significant object

June 3, 2008 by jstrachan

The most significant object in my room is my pet alligator Earl. The reason he is so significant to me is because he is a living animal and he has been my pet for a couple of years now and have become very attached to him.

this picture shows his significants  to me because he is the only object in the photo and all the ground sourounding him is lit up and fades to black as you move away from him.

Pepon Osorio

May 22, 2008 by jstrachan

Pepon Osorio has some very unige peices of work. The peice of work that i will be talking about is Borcua. But some things about his work are not really of my interest, like how he stages things together. But he does have some good qualaties in his photos that i like .

The main reason that i do not like Osorio’s photos is because he puts things together. I do not like photos that collage things together. These photographs do not show any meaning besides what the artist is trying to say to the to the people who look at his work. Think if he took more photos of more natural things that his work would be better, because not all people feel the same way when an object is put infront of them.

Butthe reason why I do liek his work is becuase of the quality of his photos. His photos are high quality peices of work. all the way from the bigger objects to the smaller ones. Osorio uses lots of colors in his work which helps make what he is saying stand out. What i think he is saying in this photo is that he remebers all those palces were the objects are from. He has peices of art from all over the world collaged into this picture, and it really shows how important those places or memories are to him.

ALtogether his art work is of good quality but not in my taste.

This shows the mushrooms in their natural enviroment, and a happy mood.

This picture shows one of the mushrooms above and represents a sad mood because it is taken from its natural habitat and broken.

FIREEEEE

May 19, 2008 by jstrachan

If there was fire in my house and I only had time to grab a coupel of htings i would grab…

1. my pet alligator

2. my skateboard

3. clothing and shoes

4. computer

5. money, ipod, assesories

The reason i would pick these things to take with me incase of a fire is becasue i care most about these objects. My pet is the most inportant because he is living too. Next my skateboard because its my favorite thing to do. Then my shoes and clothing because i need clothign to wear, and my coputer because it cost alot and my other technology because it all so expensive. The money is self explanitory.

How to create emotion

May 13, 2008 by jstrachan

Photographs can be taken in many diffrnet ways to show emotion. One way you can show emotion in one of your photos is by changing the lighting in the background of the picture, this will set a diffrent mood through out the picture. Another way to change the emotion of the picture is by editing the colors of the photo, changing colors can make the photo seem older and more classic. And another way to change the emotion in a photo is to not always focus the object in the middle of the photograph, somtimes putting the photo to the side can make it have a better setting/emotion.
